Caution! Fake QIWI terminals

2016-06-12 00:00:00

QIWI terminals are becoming more and more popular every day. The increase in demand is quite simple to explain: with the help of a smart device you can solve a number of problems, for example:

  1. Top up mobile.
  2. Pay off the loan debt.
  3. Deposit money to the QIWI e-wallet.

Even an official representative of the company can hardly count the number of QIWI terminals in Moscow and the region. They can be found on almost every corner, in every store. But not all users are satisfied with the quality of the services provided - quite often the money does not go to its intended purpose. And the reason for this lies not in the fraudulent schemes of the system itself, but in the fact that false QIWI terminals can be found no less often than real ones.

Who benefits from fake QIWI terminals?

The Qiwi system allows its users to perform various actions, for example, replenish accounts without extra commissions and in a matter of time. This fuels interest in the service not only from users, but also from scammers.

The owners of terminals of other payment systems, and simply dishonest people have found a way to cash in on the users of the system. The QIWI-terminal has the original image. Small networks do not copy it; they fully duplicate the interface. The user is unlikely to notice the difference before depositing money into the account.

The scheme is simple:

  1. You deposit money into your account.
  2. After that, a window appears with a warning that the commission will be withheld.
  3. The user has no options but to click "Pay".

This development of events causes a lot of negativity from ordinary users against the Qiwi system, which has nothing to do with this. Perhaps, if we were talking about a relatively small overpayment, for example, about 1%, many would accept this state of affairs. But fake QIWI-terminals take at least 6% of the deposited amount, and in some cases the commission reaches 10-12%. Of course, this is a lot of money.

How to distinguish a fake QIWI terminal from a real one?

In order for the money to reach the address indicated by you in full, you should carefully consider the choice of the terminal. Main recommendations:

  1. The most reliable way is to use the official website of the QIWI system. In the section "Points of replenishment on the card" you can enter your address and choose the most suitable terminal for you. Original QIWI terminals are guaranteed to be at the specified addresses .
  2. If the official website is not at hand, we recommend that you study the terminal itself. On closer inspection, you will immediately find the differences.
  3. Terminals located in basements and semi-basements should not be used. Choose devices that are located in crowded places, such as shopping malls. Here representatives of the Qiwi system would immediately know about the fraudsters and take appropriate measures.

What are the differences between a real and a fake terminal? It:

  • The lack of an official QIWI Kiwi logo. The inscription is located under the original letter "Q" in exactly two languages. The logo is on all pages, not only on the home page.
  • In most cases, the item "Personal Account", which is in classic terminals, has been replaced by the "QIWI-wallet" of embedded QIWI-terminals. But in fact, the user will not be able to manage his wallet through this item. The system will "advise" him to go to the official website qiwi.ru.
  • If your money is dear to you - study the section "Information". Here you can find the full name of the owner of the device, as well as the operator (the original must contain the United System of Instant Payments CJSC).

Every user of the device should be attentive. It is not so difficult to distinguish a fake, the main thing is to know what the original looks like.

Do you always pay a commission when you deposit through the terminal? You have been deceived for a long time!

If you are used to paying a commission when replenishing your phone or repaying a loan, then you have been deceived for a long time. The QIWI system does not charge a commission for replenishment in an amount less than RUB 500 (3%). The rest of the payments are commission-free. Earlier, this measure was abolished, and users did not pay anything at all.

Fraudsters use terminals that have already left the Qiwi system in their work. They manage to copy the interface, and many users pay commission for years without knowing the details. Pay attention to this fact - there is no point in “feeding” the owner of a false terminal, it is better to leave this money for your family!

If you have any doubts when working with the terminal, just top up your wallet with a small amount, for example, 100 rubles. The risks will be minimal, but you will surely make sure that you have a real terminal of the "QIWI" payment system in front of you, and not a copy of it, to which you will have to give 10% of the payment amount.

If there is a risk, then it is worth avoiding it. Therefore, we offer all our clients to refuse risky operations and, if there is a possibility, then using our Qiwi exchanger, transfer other electronic money to replenish the Qiwi wallet. Yes, it comes with a commission, but it is safe and verified by thousands of users.
